[NEXUS RP] Soundwave, Ravage, Predaking, Laserbeak

Just at the edge of the perimeter between Destron Hall-to-be and the Wilds, Soundwave lay back on the hillside and looked up at the stars, which were so different and so familiar all at once.

Ravage was a pleasant weight against his side, head resting on his shoulder, fingers entwined with his, as they wordlessly pointed out constellations they knew to each other, drawing new ones where their knowledge ran out.

With his free hand, he pointed to a pair of stars in a tandem orbit, circling each other but always keeping their distance.

Ravage shook his head. {We used to be like that, but not for long. And we didn't explode when we finally breached the distance.}

{I remember a few explosions. You were especially beautiful afterward.} Soundwave laughed, then frowned. Rumble and Frenzy were inside with Laserbeak, Ravage was right here beside him, the other cassettes were dormant, and there was no-one around for miles--until now.

Who was that strange mind-- and what was blocking out the stars at the edge of the Wilds?

"Yes. I think Predacons are a little different than Cybertronians - our beast modes are our default and our more natural forms. I have performed better in combat in beast mode. Shockwave believed that the alt-modes may have been unique to the Predacons recreated by him, not our original counterparts who were killed in the Cataclysm."

He doesn't know if that's because the beast form has more raw power and sheer size on its side or if because it's the form that's more "natural" to Predacons. It could be both.

"Would you like me to change back, then?"

"Yes," says Soundwave, watching closely.

"If you have that Shockwave's notes, there are people I know who would like to see them. Ratchet worked on Ravi, because he was on the Lost Light when this was discovered, but the rest of the family aren't particularly comfortable with being handled by Autobots, so it will probably be Knock Out who undoes the restraints. So I think we should share selected portions of that information with all of the parties concerned, for the safety of all my family, and of anyone else this may have been done to. Would you agree? Since Ravi told you there were two and two, we've located two more cats among the Decepticons who follow us, and...while nearly all beastformers are Decepticons, the Autobots do have some."

"You think there are others who were created with Predacon CNA? Even where I come from, Shockwave had only begun splicing experiments. Ser-Ket was the leader of the Forged, an army loyal to Shockwave alone, not me and not Megatron. But meeting you makes me think that had more to do with Shockwave's conditioning than anything else. Ravage and Laserbeak are much more stable than she was - though he mentioned that there was one who is more dangerous."

Predaking was wary of Ser-Ket, and not only because she wouldn't follow his authority. She was dangerous and without restraint. He shifts back into the dragon mode.

"I can see to it that you recieve the notes - but I ask that you first try to help these hybrids, whichever side they're on. They may not know who they are."

Soundwave smiles, not for the first time feeling that it's ironic he's always been a communications officer.

"Soundwave: sometimes difficult to understand. Thought I said I would do that."

He examines the card. It's still seated, so he carefully places the pins to anchor it before he seals the layers of derma over it.

"Should work now. Ravi can show you command gestures."

"That's what he meant when he mentioned Ratchet. Ratchet's an Autobot, but he was the one who took the inhibitors off me, because I was on one of their ships when I realised I needed them gone," Ravage says quietly. "We don't care what faction the other hybrids are in. That would be wrong. We're trying to make peace with the Autobots anyway; it's Galvatron who doesn't want that."

"Good. I thank you for helping them regardless of faction. I'll see to it that you get the data. I was told that there is a Sky Lynx who is alive and well among the Autobots. In my world, he was one of my Predacons, and served me until he was killed by Starscream. You might want to check him. The names are identical. Can't be a coincidence."

Predaking moves a paw, testing it.

"Ratchet's trustworthy. He was the one who told me that Megatron had lied to me about what happened to the other Predacons. But I don't know who Galvatron is. He sounds like somebody who's trouble, if he's challenging your leadership. What do I do now, Ravage?"
